Parsons, Kansas Tornado April 21, 2005

An F3 rated tornado passed 5 miles north of Parsons, Kansas on April 21, 2005. The tornado produced a 5 mile long damage path but was smallish in size, only 0.1 mile wide.

Three properties were in the path of this sparsely populated area, and call it bad luck as each farm house got tornadoed.
This truck lost its glass, and it's tires are deflated due to airborne debris. Many trees have been snapped at the base.
Here's the first structural damage as a barn was twisted and ripped apart. The tornado damage path was about 50 yards wide.
This frame home was pushed off its foundation and roof removed. Two mobile homes on the property were moved across the road. Path width is 100 yards
Some clothing and a ceiling fan have been wrapped around this tree. Tornado is rated F2 here.
This brick home no longer has bricks. The roof is gone with one wall missing and another partially collapsed. The F3-rated tornado was 0.10 miles wide here.
Another view of the F3 damaged house....it's now well ventilated.
These wheels belong on the property across the street. The tornado was F2-F3 at this time.
As the tornado weakened, it dropped debris: lots of metal, wood and insulation dot this dirt field. F1 looking damage with a 75 yard wide path.
